Welcome to
Wellbeing on Water
Hey friends, my name is Meagan - (may-gun) - however it’s rarely pronounced correctly so I am known as May.
Three years ago I gave up my rented apartment and moved onto the water, just me and my 62ft floating home.
I’ve navigated storms in my personal life, made many mistakes and have often felt like a slave to my relentless mind, going in circles like a whirlpool ready to sink my ship.
But living with nature is a constant reminder that nothing stays the same.
I really struggled in my 20s, I still struggle now but with more wisdom under my life jacket.
I remember the first time I went to a yoga class, living in Australia, following the fitness trend like a sheep (baa).
But, what I found on the mat was unexpected.
I remember thinking to myself after class “so, everything I’ve been searching for - joy, peace, love, connection - it’s all right here? Within me!! Why did no-one teach us this at school!”.
… and that was the beginning of my mental health journey.
Years later, I’ve found myself living an unusual life, a not-so-easy life. I’ve intentionally thrown myself into the deep end because every time I pull myself out, I am a bit stronger and a bit more capable.
Also, I was born to be unconventional – you’d know what I mean if you meet my dad. (hi dad, love you).
I’ve attained many professional and useful skills on my path. I am a certified NLP Practitioner (human excellence and brain re-wiring! fancy.) and I trained as a Wellbeing Coach back in 2019. This lead to working for the NHS in the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services serving young communities and their minds.
I have also studied and practiced yoga for 10 years! This has been the foundation for everything in my life. Yoga is not a bunch of fancy stretches for skinny women, it’s a way of life. I suppose you could compare it to Buddhism but neither are religious - it was culture that put robes on people - the essence of these teachings is learning to see truth.

I like to call Yoga “a path to waking up”.
The only way you can truly see is to quieten the mind of reason, put logic to the side for a second and stop lugging those ridiculously heavy (but important) bags around. AKA “past” and “future”. You can pick them up again later.
Is it time for you to take a rest from all this lugging?
This work has really helped my own personal journey to negotiate uncertain waters, to find the calm in the storm, to focus on what is most important to me - community and connection.
I’ve built an online community on Youtube where I share my most vulnerable stories whilst showing you – in detail - life afloat my narrowboat.
Telling stories is one of our oldest human traits – and I love to put a visual story together.
So this is me! In raw human form. No bells and whistles or orange robes. I’m just doing my best to be seen, heard and understood whilst serving others.
If I were to list my values and mission in three sentences, they would be:
-
To build a healthy calm life with purpose and passion
-
To prioritise community and connection above material and money
-
To be of service to my needs and the needs of others
If you have similar goals but you’re just not “there” yet, we should definitely talk!
So whether you are ready to take on a journey toward better health and wellbeing or you just love my entertaining boaty videos.
It’s a pleasure to have you on board,
I hope we get to connect soon.
With love,
May x
